1. Which account you have

LoopIn has two apps, and they hold different things. Find yours below — the steps and the data are not the same.

LoopIn Tracker

nz.loopin.loopin_tracker

The personal GPS tracker app. Your account is the email address you sign in with, and it holds your trackers, your emergency contacts and your location history.

LoopIn (club app)

com.loopin_nz.app

The app clubs run on a tablet at the door. Your account here is your sign-in — the one you use as a coach, manager or administrator.

A wristband is not an account. If you only tap a wristband to sign in and out, you have no login to delete. Your membership record belongs to your club, and your club can erase it for you — see what is not deleted.

2. Delete it yourself, in the app

This is the fastest route and it needs nothing from us.

LoopIn Tracker

  1. Open the app and go to the Account tab.
  2. Tap Delete my account at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Read what will be removed, then confirm.

LoopIn club app

  1. Sign in to Command Centre with your own account.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap Delete my account.
  3. Confirm. This removes your sign-in for that club.

3. If you cannot get into the app

If you have already uninstalled the app, lost access to your sign-in, or would simply rather we did it:

  1. Email support@loopin.nz from the address your account uses.
  2. Use the subject line “Account and data deletion request”.
  3. Tell us which app it is, and — for the club app — which club, so we can find the right record.

We may ask you to confirm your identity first. An account that anyone could delete by naming an address is an account anyone could delete.

4. What happens, and when

Your request takes effect immediately, but the erasure does not. Your account is scheduled for deletion and everything is erased 30 days later.

You can undo it for those 30 days. Sign in again before the date shown in the app and choose to keep your account. Nothing has been erased until the 30 days are up. After that it cannot be recovered — there is no copy to restore.

Your account keeps working normally during that period. For LoopIn Tracker that includes SOS alerts to your emergency contacts, which we do not switch off early.

If you write to us instead of using the app, we will acknowledge your request within 20 working days, as the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 requires, and the same 30-day window applies from the point we action it.

5. What gets deleted

LoopIn Tracker

LoopIn club app

Deleting your sign-in at one club does not affect a sign-in you hold at another. Each is a separate account you joined separately.

6. What is not deleted, and why

Deleting your club sign-in does not erase your membership record. Those are two different things, and we are explicit about it rather than letting you assume otherwise.

A membership record is held by your club, not by us on your behalf, and several people at a club can share one email address — a parent’s address commonly sits on their children’s records. Matching records by address would erase the wrong person. So we do not touch them automatically.

To have your membership record erased, ask your club’s administrator. They have a tool built for exactly this, which strips your personal details while leaving the club’s attendance history intact and anonymous. If your club will not act on it, contact us and we will help.

We may also keep, after your account is gone:

Anything we retain is kept only as long as necessary and handled under our Privacy Policy.

7. If you run a club

If you are the club’s owner — the person whose email address the club was registered under — your account and the club are the same thing. Deleting it would take the club and every member’s data with it, so the app will not let you do it with a single tap.

Email support@loopin.nz and we will confirm what closing the club means, who it affects, and what your members are entitled to first. If you want to leave but the club is carrying on, tell us and we will transfer ownership instead.
